“THE CRITICAL FACTOR IN SUCCESS IS NOT THE SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE CHILDREN BRING TO THE TABLE; IT’S THE MINDSET THEY HAVE ABOUT THEIR ABILITY TO LEARN AND GROW.”

- Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

MEET BWA’S FOUNDER & EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT

Cassidy Walsh

Cassidy’s passion for education began at a young age. After being diagnosed with dyslexia in elementary school, she worked tirelessly to learn how to overcome academic obstacles and challenges. During this time, she quickly realized the importance of providing children with the tools needed to achieve both academic and personal success. In 2015, after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the College of Charleston, Cassidy worked as a middle school English and science teacher at Charleston Day School. It was during this time that BWA was founded.

Soon after, Cassidy attained her Master’s in Educational Psychology while working at one of Indiana’s most elite private schools, Park Tudor School, as both a Lower School Math Specialist and the High School Academic Coach. At the same time, Cassidy earned certifications and attended clinics about admissions counseling, including through the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. Throughout these years, Cassidy also trained numerous educators in tailoring classroom lessons to meet the needs of individual students, specifically those with learning challenges and disabilities, as well as providing teacher training in tutoring, homeschooling, academic coaching, and admissions counseling practices.

Cassidy currently resides in Colorado where she runs BWA, providing individualized services to students across the nation. When not working, Cassidy can be found skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, dirt biking, camping, attending concerts, and traveling.

 FAQs

  • • “Educational psychology is the study of how humans learn and retain knowledge, primarily in educational settings like classrooms. This includes emotional, social, and cognitive learning processes.” -Careeresinpsychology.org

    • “Many of us might take learning and education for granted. Going to class and being taught is or was just something that we did. For others, however, learning in a classroom isn't so simple. For these people, school is an annoying and frustrating torture, which can often lead to behavioral issues or even the lack of an education. Learning disabilities often contribute a great deal to being unable to retain knowledge in a classroom setting. Educational psychology, however, can be used to help people understand and overcome learning disabilities, so they are able to live up to their full potential in life.”- Careeresinpsychology.org
